Activity

Initial When Completed

1. Collect fall leaves and sort them by color. Write tally marks for the number of leaves of each color.

2. Make a counting page or counting book. Write the number and cut out that number of items from a magazine or newspaper (5 trucks, 4 cats, etc).  Glue them next to the number.

3. Pumpkin math. Get a pumpkin and guess the number of seeds inside. Write down your guess and then check it by counting the actual number.

4. Look for shapes at home. Draw all the items of one shape you can find (squares: windows, tiles, CD cases, etc.)

5. Make a list to practice writing and sound-spelling. This could be a grocery list, a list of colors, favorite toys, etc.

6. Write a How-To paper. Tell how to do something in three or more steps.

7. Do a book report. Tell, write, or draw what happened first, next, and last.  Try making up a new ending to the story.
