Policy for Parent Concerns
The Site Council welcomes any parent with any concern and will help find the appropriate resource for the parent while upholding the By-Laws the Site Council is bound by.

That said, there are a few guidelines that we follow:
  1. If your concern is about how a classroom is running, or any topic that concerns an individual student, teacher or staff member you should go directly to Ms. Ciccarelli. If you prefer to come to Site Council with these concerns, Site Council will forward your concern to the staff/administration and the staff/administrative personnel will be held accountable to answer the parent.

  2. If you have any other concerns you have options on how to proceed:

    • Email or call either co-chair or the recording secretary to have your concern added to the agenda for the next meeting.
    • Or, if you don't feel comfortable doing that, contact any site council member and they will have your concern added to the agenda for the next meeting.

As Site Council is an effort by parents and staff who work respectfully and collaboratively to help better the school, we have By-Laws that govern what we are able to do. Article XII - Decision Making and Article II - Mission state that the Site Council “will respect the roles and authority of the principal and committees…”

With this in mind, the Site Council do everything possible to make sure that your concerns are heard and resources to help are found.
