Summer Newsletter 2008
welcome_md_wht

Dear Families,

Summer School is in full swing!  We have had over 100 students attending daily!  If you are in the neighborhood during the lunch hours, 11:115-12:30, stop in with your children, lunch is free!

Here are just a couple of reminders:

Please encourage your student(s) to read regularly.   It will help them maintain the momentum they gained this past school year.

Find ways for your student(s) to do math daily.  Some examples might be estimating grocery costs, counting the number of magazines or books in a room, helping measure ingredients for a recipe, figuring the number of miles per gallon you have driven this week, etc.

School supply lists for next year should have accompanied your child's report card home.  If they have been misplaced, you can find them on our website on the homepage for each grade level.

A reminder, next year Highland Park will no longer be able to provide free breakfast to all students.   Breakfast will cost $.65 per student.   It is still the best deal in town!!!!!  For more information regarding Nutritional Services, please log onto www.sppscafe.org or call 651-603-4950.

Finally,  I look forward to seeing you at our Back-To-School Night, August 28, 2008.   More details will be mailed home in early August along with your students(s) classroom assignment!

I hope you and your family are enjoying the Minnesota summer!

Sincerely,
Teresa Ciccarelli
