Security
The following building policies have been implemented with the safety and security of all children in mind. Please follow these policies and talk to me if you have questions or concerns.

Before School:
School starts at 9:10. Breakfast is free for all students and we encourage everyone to eat. The cafeteria opens at 8:55. If students are in the building before 8:55, they must report directly to the hallway near the library and wait there until 8:55. Staff there will release them at 8:55 to go to lockers, breakfast, or their classrooms.

After School:
The school day ends at 3:40. If you pick your child up from school at the end of the day, your child will wait by the front (Saunders Avenue) door for you. Please do not come to classrooms to pick your child up. Teachers have important last-minute announcements and instructions for students at the end of the day. Getting all students ready to go home is a big task and hallways are very crowded at that time. I will walk students to the front door, where they will be supervised while waiting to be picked up.


Visitors to the Building During the Day:
Anyone visiting the building during the day must report directly to the office to sign in. This includes the following:
  • Classroom volunteers. If you are volunteering in your child’s classroom, sign in at the office and you will be given a badge that will identify you as a visitor.
  • Early Pick-Up. If you need to pick your child up early for an appointment, you must sign your child out in the office and wait there. Office staff will call the child’s classroom and have your child meet you in the office. Teachers will not release children directly to you from the classroom. For the safety of our students, we will only release them to the office after receiving a call from office staff.
