WORD WALL WORDS 3/08
Word Wall Words will be introduced each week and a master list of all words for the year will be provided as well. Each student should work at their own instructional level with all students working on reading Word Wall Words first, then writing and spelling them next.

Summer School 2008 - Butterfly Study (Click here to see pictures)
Mrs. Cotter gave us 2 caterpillars and we watched them turn into monarch butterflies. We  released them and let them return to nature. We studied a lot about butterflies and we did research, wrote and drew about them as well. Ms. Weisman's son Joseph came in and read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" to the class and taught everyone our family butterfly song and dance.  The following is a poem is inspired by Ms. Weisman's family butterfly song and written by Xzavier and included are some pictures and drawings by Nayher, Olivia, Sara, Cortney, Luis, Rediate and Hlu. We didn't take pictures of everything, so enjoy what we have to share!

Butterfly Flap Your Wings
By Xzavier

Butterfly, Butterfly eat some leaves
From kid to adult, you are sweet.

So flap your wings, because
you are a beautiful butterfly
that means a lot to me.

So fly in the air
find some friends
because it's you time to shine
butterfly!

Butterfly, butterfly
flap your wings,

Butterfly, butterfly
flap your wings,

You are a beautiful butterfly.
