Where Are the Results of Student Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) Test Scores?
The
latest information that we have about the results of the MÇA (grades 3 & 5) tests that the students took last
spring is that parents will receive this information from the District
in mid-November.
Online Field Tests for English Language Learners Completed
In October, Highland Park Elementary completed the
administration of field tests for the online version of the Test of
Emerging Academic English Listening & Speaking (TEAELS) and the
Math Test for English Language Learners (MTELL). In the past,
these tests were standard paper-and-pencil tests. This is the
first year that the tests will be given to students online.
Field tests are part of the test development process, and are given to
students to determine which individual test items are satisfactory for
use in the real tests which will be given next spring. While these
field tests enable the Department of Education to develop high quality
tests, they also help introduce the format of these new online tests to
students, and enable school districts to check their technology
infrastructure to make sure they will be ready to give these tests in
spring 2007 when they count. Almost a hundred districts are conducting
field testing with approximately 35,000 English language learners this
fall.
Edusoft Testing Information
The Edusoft Assessment will be administered to all 3rd-6th grade students during the month of October. The Edusoft Management System gives students and teachers benefit from instant access to test results
and analysis that work immediately to inform and improve instruction in math and reading. They are
standards-aligned district benchmark assessments. Teachers and
administrators can access
test results online within minutes, analyze student performance data,
and quickly access reteaching materials and resources. The
Edusoft Assessments will be administered again in January to evaluate
improvement.
